Hello everyone..I'm new the forums and new to engine building as well. Hopefully I can find some useful information on this site.
I am rebuilding a 4.6L V8 for a Mustang which is going to be N/A with stock PI 2-valve heads and Comp's 270ah camshaft. The motor will run on 93 octane and will be a daily driver.
I'm looking for input as to what size pistons to go with. Stock the motor had 15cc pistons I believe with a compression ratio of 9.6:1. if I go with a 10cc piston, that will increase the comp ratio by a full point. Is this about the limit I would want to stay at given the information above? Or could I go with say a 3cc piston for a compression ratio of around 12.3:1?
Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
