Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our IT people have looked into the password issue and here's what they told me:
"A link has been added at the top of the community builder pages, once logged in,
that allows users to modify information in their profile (avatar, reset password, etc)."
Also, i'm not a big fan of internet exploiter either ;-) I use FireFox and have had no troubles so far. Some browsers are just not very compatible, especially with Microsoft products (but that's a whole other story!).
